Founder Ms. Victoria Burke has been with NT since 2005. Burke spent 5 years in East Africa consulting for companies whose purpose was to export organic products from Africa. Burke consulted for Nile Teas during their inception, participating in farmer recruitment and training, as well as growing the production capacity for NT along with other companies. Originally from Uganda, Burke has witnessed the atrocities of war, where in one instance she lost eleven women producers of hibiscus to an ambush by Kony’s rebels (the Lord’s Resistance Army-AKA LRA)

To consume ‘Simply Hibi’ is to simply support smallholder farmers improve their livelihoods. Ibis Atlantic is passionate about improving the livelihoods of many small holder farmers in Uganda who lack market opportunities for their products and yet their livelihoods depend heavily on agriculture.
